Land Manager

Churchill Living Ltd

Date: 3 hours ago
City: Bromsgrove
Contract type: Full time

About the role

We are seeking a Divisional Land Manager to join our Central Division Land team who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Division by focusing on buying land in both the West and East Midlands areas.

The wider Central Division land team is based further North, so this is a unique opportunity, as you will assume ownership of this geographic area as the company’s sole Land Buyer in this part of the country, but with the added benefit of support from the wider Divisional land team.

Churchill Living is a privately-owned, financially robust business with ambitious growth plans and as a Divisional Land Manager you will have full access to decision makers, reducing the hierarchical challenges and unnecessary red tape that may be found in other businesses. This enables you to be agile when it comes to commercial negotiations and securing land quickly.

You will identify and appraise all possible sites for development, working closely with the wider Divisional design, commercial, and construction teams on a day-to-day basis as well as liaising with our specialist in-house Planning experts. As a Land Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the land buying process from identification through to exchange of contracts and completion of the purchase. You’ll see your efforts rewarded with customers who love their independent, safe and secure home - knowing you’ve had a part to play in this is hugely motivational and a reward like no other. However, you are also financially rewarded for your efforts with an attractive bonus scheme that is part paid on-site acquisition, and part paid on legal completion of the site.

About you

You will have previous land buying experience either as a Land Buyer who is now seeking further progression, or alternatively as a Land Manager seeking a new challenge. Either way, you will be driven with determination and tenacity to succeed.

You will have previous experience of buying brownfield sites either for a developer for residential use or other sectors for commercial use (e.g. retail or care) in and around the West Midlands and the East Midlands area.

You must be able to demonstrate how you have identified and negotiated land purchases and show a full understanding of the commercial aspects of land buying, including legal contracts. It is important that you have experience of negotiating with all types of vendors e.g. private home-owners, public sector, businesses, and recognise the different approaches each one requires.

Whilst this role is based in our Bromsgrove office, it is essential that you are a competent driver with a valid UK Driving Licence as you’ll be spending a large proportion of your time out looking at sites.

How you’ll be rewarded

  • Competitive salary + Land Bonus scheme
  • Company car or cash for car alternative
  • Annual holiday entitlement - 25 days minimum + Bank Holidays
  • Day off on your birthday
  • Group Personal Pension Plan
  • Life Assurance
  • Private Individual Medical Insurance + Health Screening
  • John Lewis vouchers - £200 for all expectant mums and dads
  • Eye Care Reimbursement Scheme
  • Professional Subscriptions
  • And much more!
