About the Role
We’re looking for a Research and Development (R&D) Technician to join our Global R&D team in Rassau.
In this hands-on role, you’ll perform laboratory testing and design qualification activities to support product improvements, cost optimisation, and new product launches within our automotive product range.
You’ll play a key part in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability while collaborating with global and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct laboratory experiments and testing to support cost and performance improvement projects.
- Operate safely and responsibly within the R&D laboratory and wider Rassau site.
- Perform routine and non-routine product testing using a variety of laboratory equipment.
- Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and written test methods.
- Complete accurate technical documentation and project reports.
- Liaise effectively with cross-functional teams on-site and remotely via Teams and email.
- Maintain laboratory inventories, records, and housekeeping standards to a high level.
- Participate in outdoor or physical testing activities when required.
- Support continuous improvement and other duties aligned with the needs of the R&D function.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally with aqueous-based formulations.
- Strong interest in science and product development.
- A curious, proactive, and adaptable mindset with strong communication skills.
- Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality standards.
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Desirable:
- Knowledge of formulation chemistry, raw materials, or surfactants.
- Experience in chemical or consumer product R&D (designing, testing, and analysing product formulas).
- Ability to manage projects from lab concept through to scale-up and production implementation.
