Join Our Team as a Laboratory Assistant in the Plant Quality Department!

This role works 39-hours per week Monday – Friday, with the start time of 7am.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Laboratory Assistant at Church & Dwight UK Ltd & Sofibel SAS (C&D Europe), you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our QC and Microbiology laboratories. You'll be the backbone of our lab, maintaining cleanliness, monitoring supplies, and supporting our QC Manager, QC Shift Supervisors, Laboratory Technicians, and Microbiologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Promote and support a strong safety culture by following all Plant Safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep It Clean: Maintain both laboratories in a pristine state to eliminate potential safety hazards.
  • Stay Stocked: Proactively manage lab supplies and inform the QC Manager of any approaching shortages.
  • Monitor & Report: Keep track of lab equipment and reagents, ensuring they are within their expiry dates and reporting any issues.
  • Waste Management: Dispose of waste materials safely and efficiently to keep the lab clutter-free.
  • Support Team: Assist in the receipt, logging, and organization of incoming samples for analysis.
  • Maintain Standards: Ensure 5S standards are up to date and help address any issues identified in audits.
  • Chemical Upkeep: Aid in maintaining chemical libraries and reference materials.

  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail.

Education & Experience

  • Desirable: Previous experience working in a laboratory environment within a regulated industry (e.g., FMCG, Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals).
