Lab Technician (13 month fixed term contract) - Student Placement Internship

Zotefoams plc is a world leader in cellular material technology, headquartered in Croydon, UK, with additional manufacturing sites in Kentucky, USA and Brzeg, Poland, Oklahoma, USA (foam products manufacture and conversion) and Jiangsu Province, China (T-FIT).

We produce lightweight foams for various markets including sports and leisure, aviation, automotive and healthcare. Zotefoams also owns and licenses patented technology and sells advanced insulation systems

About the Role~

This internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in an industrial setting, supporting the Development Laboratory team with trials, tests and investigations. The intern will contribute to projects relating to the development and introduction of new raw materials, products, and processes.

Role Responsibilities~

• Support trials, tests, and investigations from lab to production scale.
• Operate lab equipment competently and interpret results accurately.
• Prepare samples and test pieces for evaluation.
• Produce clear and timely reports.
• Interpret standard/specification documents and carry out appropriate testing.
• Comply with COSHH and risk assessments and promote safe working practices.
• Maintain clean and organised workspaces.
• Engage in relevant meetings and contribute positively.
• Undertake training and additional duties as needed.
  
  

What you'll need~

• Ideally, a degree or vocational qualification in a Materials or Engineering-related subject.
• Knowledge of polymer/foam testing.
• Understanding of COSHH and risk assessment processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication, numeracy, and literacy skills.
• A practical and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
