We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis within a dynamic and supportive environment. About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis within a dynamic and supportive environment. You will play a key role in helping the business make informed decisions through accurate financial insights and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- You will help monitor departmental and project-level costs to ensure alignment with budgetary targets. This includes analysing cost variances, identifying trends or anomalies, and providing recommendations to improve cost efficiency and financial performance.
- You will support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts by collecting inputs, validating assumptions, and preparing financial models. You will assist in scenario analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- You will contribute to the preparation of financial statements and assist in the annual audit process by compiling supporting documentation, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- You will ensure that financial activities comply with internal policies and external regulations. You will assist in maintaining documentation for financial procedures and controls and support efforts to strengthen financial governance.
- You will participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required. This may include profitability analysis, investment appraisals, or supporting business cases for new initiatives.
- You will work closely with colleagues across finance and other departments to gather data, share insights, and support cross-functional initiatives. You will communicate financial information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Some experience in finance or accounting (e.g., internship or placement year) is advantageous but not essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
