Our state-of-the-art manufacturing and strong company values have made us a trusted name in the industry — and now, we’re looking for a Junior Buyer to support our growing Procurement function and play a key role in our continued success.

 

As a Junior Buyer at Origin, you’ll be central to ensuring our manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. With a strong focus on material availability, forecasting, and supplier management, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment and is keen to develop within a high-performing team.

 

Key Responsibilities Include but is not limited to:

 

  • Ensure minimum 98.5% stock availability to support uninterrupted manufacturing.
  • Support the implementation of Procurement strategies as directed by the Head of Department (HOD).
  • Lead the forecasting and facilitation of stock orders, balancing cost and operational needs.
  • Be a key contributor in the implementation and optimisation of planning software.
  • Assist in the contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, and execution.
  • Identify and develop the best value purchasing opportunities within assigned categories.
  • Support improvements in forecast accuracy, aligning with company growth and evolving demand.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to maximise cost-efficiency and timely delivery of goods/services.
  • Support tender processes, including preparing documentation, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts.
  • Conduct regular supplier and contract reviews in line with strategic objectives set by the HOD.
  • Build a working understanding of key component categories, suppliers, and supply chains.
  • Provide proactive support to the HOD on new and ongoing procurement projects

  • Basic analytical skills, with a strong willingness to learn how to assess data, market trends, and risks.
  • High attention to detail, especially when reviewing contracts, audits, and compliance documentation.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn, with the ability to support team responsiveness to evolving priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a structured and proactive manner.
  • Experience or exposure to manufacturing or engineering procurement is desirable but not essential
