Junior AR Clerk – 6 Months FTC

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior AR Clerk to join our Nuneaton-based financial team and contribute to the day-to-day operations of our busy Credit Control function.

The Person

We’re looking for someone who is eager to start or grow their career in finance. You may have some previous experience in an admin or finance role, even part-time or through an internship. It would be helpful if you're familiar with accounting software. You might also be studying or interested in studying AAT or another accounting qualification. Most importantly, you should be organised, willing to learn, and ready to support a busy finance team.

The Role

As a Junior AR Clerk, you will support the Credit Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with credit management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or grow their career in finance.

Responsibilities

• Processing daily banking and reconciliations
• Generating and sending customer invoices
• Handling and resolving customer queries
• Chasing outstanding payments via phone and email
• Posting and allocating credit notes
• Supporting the Credit Controller with various credit and reporting tasks
• Assisting with internal and external audits
• Maintaining accurate records in the accounting system
• Monitoring the AR inbox and ensuring timely responses
• General administrative duties as required within the Finance team
  
  

 

Requirements

• A keen interest in finance and accounting
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
• Willingness to learn and develop within the role
