About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a JavaScript Engineer to join the elementsuite team, who's passionate about creating engaging, high-quality products and tools. You'll be working closely with our Application Development team, contributing to our cutting-edge HR software platform.
This is a hands-on role where you'll build user-centric, performant interfaces while following modern engineering standards. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and enjoys working with frameworks like Vue.js and Knockout.js - this one's for you.
elementsuite is rewriting the rulebook on how enterprise software is built. Our cloud-native platform powers flexible, scalable, and beautifully simple HR and workforce management solutions. At the start of this year, elementsuite and Zellis joined forces to create an AI-enabled, end-to-end HR, WFM and Pay solution. We already support some of the biggest brands in the UK & Ireland, combining deep HR domain expertise with next-generation technology. Key Responsibilities In The Role Will Include
At Zellis we create AI-enabled HR, workforce management and payroll products and services, to power exceptional employee experiences so that you and your people do better. Our multi-award-winning products pay over five million employees a year, with almost half (42%) of the FTSE 100, 50% of the top retailers and 30% of the top universities in the UK & Ireland as customers, making us the largest provider of Payroll and HR software and managed services.

Key Responsibilities In The Role Will Include
- Building innovative, high-quality products in line with the elementsuite roadmap.
- Writing clean, reusable JavaScript code using modern frameworks (e.g. Vue.js, Knockout.js).
- Developing responsive UI/UX experiences using HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.
- Testing your work thoroughly with appropriate unit testing before release.
- Estimating your own work and managing time effectively.
- Refactoring code regularly to improve performance and maintainability.
- Collaborating with the Head of Application and cross-functional teams to align on design and implementation.
- Sharing your expertise to help evolve best practices and technical standards.
- Staying mindful of performance (HTTP requests, caching, rendering, DOM manipulation, etc).
- Testing across multiple browsers and devices, including smartphones and tablets.
- Supporting operational delivery sessions and contributing technical insights.
- Participating in peer reviews, giving and receiving feedback, and continually learning.
- Demonstrable experience working in a software engineering environment (any experience in HR software would be advantageous).
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience with modern frameworks (Vue.js, Knockout.js, jQuery).
- Solid understanding of MVVM, responsive design, and UI/UX principles.
- Experience working with APIs and data visualisation tools like D3.js.
- Familiarity with Git or SVN for version control.
- Understanding of SQL and the ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
- A pragmatic mindset, balancing time, cost, and quality with guidance from leadership.
