What You’ll Be Doing
Working with our Customer, Strategy and Communications teams, you’ll support strategic programmes and processes that provide focus and action in the governance and assurance of business performance.
You’ll also learn how National Highways manages key stakeholder relationships with regulators and other external bodies such as the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), Transport Focus and the Department for Transport.
You’ll gain valuable insight into how a large public organisation functions and is held to account externally, whilst supporting projects that will deliver our strategic business aims and meet the needs of our customers to the best of our ability.

To be eligible for a placement, you must be available to attend the 2-day induction, 30th June 1st July.
All offers for our internships are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, reference, and DBS criminal record checks.
Due to the salary level of this role, we cannot offer sponsorship for the position for individuals that don't have the Right to Work in the UK. Successful candidates will require Right to Work for the duration of the programme.

What You’ll Need To Succeed
If you have the passion and dedication to succeed, you’ll be a great match for our programme. To be successful, you’ll have:
- An enthusiastic, collaborative approach to working with others
- The ability to communicate in different formats with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent co-ordination skills
- The ability to plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
- A focus on quality and integrity in everything you do
- Currently in your second year of an undergraduate degree and expect to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 in any subject
