The Role

A pivotal role where you’ll be at the heart of our screening services. Directly assisting our clients, including adults, children, separated couples/parents and families, you’ll predominantly offer initial assessment via phone from our Cheltenham office and, optionally, your home.

What You Can Expect To Do In This Role

  • Handling incoming inquiries and referrals over the phone.
  • Processing referrals for Better Place Australia.
  • Conducting initial screenings to ascertain individual needs and direct them to the right service pathway.
  • Offering information, guidance, and referrals for counselling or dispute resolution needs.

What You Will Require

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioural science field (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and be adept in engaging and forming connections with individuals undergoing crises.
  • A pronounced orientation towards customer service.
  • A keen commitment to continuous learning.
  • A genuine interest in Family Support Programs, Family Law, and Family & Children’s Services program streams.
  • Proven capability to collect and evaluate screening and assessment data to determine service accessibility.
  • Robust administrative abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

This Full-Time (1.0 FTE) role is based at our Cheltenham site however other locations may be required from time to time.
