Insurance Technician - London Market (Fully Remote)

Role And Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Client Services & Delivery Manager, this individual will be responsible for supporting the Underwriting Clientele by providing a wide range of administrative duties, with an emphasis on bordereaux management.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in insurance operations at a Technician, Underwriting / Broker Support / Broker Back-Up, or similar areas, with good Client Services skills and prior experience working with bordereau.

Essential Functions:

Provide technical and administrative duties as agreed with each Underwriting Client.

Build and manage relationships with Underwriting Client’s and third party service providers.

Assist in delivering Compliance / Underwriting Control - Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations, minimum standards and market practices e.g., sanctions checks.

Attend and participate in meetings concerned with onboarding new Underwriting Clients and defining the services to be provided.

Work with third party service providers to identify and outsource appropriate administrative tasks.

Conduct underwriting support, bordereaux management and processing, credit control and reconciliation activities through to cash allocations, producing, and issuing statements of account.

Assist in the development of new services and the continuous improvement of existing processes performed by the function.

Manage workflows and task management tools ensuring that service level agreements are adhered to.

Any other ad hoc tasks as defined and agreed with the Underwriting Clients.

Respond to queries from internal and external parties as required in a timely manner.

To monitor and respond to changes in regulation and compliance.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Client Services / Insurance Technical / Underwriting Support - managing relationships with a portfolio of clients for the life cycle of the engagement.

Project management experience and managing business projects for the full life cycle, from inception to implementation.

Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Understands the fundamentals of commercial insurance processes/services.

Working knowledge of insurance technology (i.e. policy and program admin systems)

Understanding of Agile project management and development process.

Experience:

3+ years of progressive experience in insurance industry (Insurance Company or MGA) preferred

Client dealing experience is necessary

CII Qualifications Desired But Not Necessary

Excellent communication and collaboration skills required, to effectively work with a variety of business partners

Ability to work dynamically between key stakeholder teams

Self-motivated and innovative with the ability to organize and manage own work, and effectively work in collaboration with others

Preferred Skills:

Good working knowledge of bordereaux essential

Relationship building/management

Strong Customer focus

Problem owner as well as resolver
