Join us as an Innovation Economy, Relationship Manager in Life Sciences

  • In this key role, you’ll be responsible for growing and retaining profitable relationships within the Mid-Market Commercial Banking team
  • We’ll look to you to build a brand that represents our Innovation Economy, Life Sciences team as the bank of choice for Life Sciences.
  • It’s an opportunity to seek out and build a referral network built through business activities and relationship development


What you'll do

As an Innovation Economy Relationship Manager in Life Sciences, you’ll champion and drive a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset. You’ll be developing new business by acquiring new relationships and deepening existing relationships, as well as leading internal strategic discussions across all solutions including credit and payments.

You’ll also be:

  • Identifying top companies in the innovation economy and connecting with their key executives
  • Managing credit, operational and reputational risk
  • Proactively supporting the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship
  • Maintaining an awareness of current industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships
  • Ensuring client acquisition and maintaining ongoing relationships with innovative companies


The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with pre-existing experience in the UK, for Life Sciences innovation economy and venture ecosystem. You’ll bring a track record of sourcing and navigating complex sales opportunities, such as in commercial banking, venture debt, venture capital, or other technology-related services.

On top of this, you’ll need:

  • A good understanding of commercial banking products and services
  • Pre-existing experience from the UK Life Sciences and venture ecosystem.
  • Experience in sales management and business development skills
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Developed interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners
