Excellent benefits package including 2.5% Golden Hello payment on commencement of employment and up to £2,000 annual retention bonus subject to eligibility criteria (pro-rata for part time employees), subject to achieving and maintaining clearance requirements.

G4S Facilities Management are recruiting a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis based in Cheltenham to provide on-site technical support for server infrastructure and LAN/WAN networks.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems that 1st or 2nd Line Support cannot handle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high-level networking problems, analyse and resolve system hardware defects, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Maintain and optimise the organisation & servers, networks, virtualised environments (Hyper- V, VMware ESXi), storage systems (SAN/NAS), and other infrastructure components.
  • Maintain and manage network security, performance, monitoring, and optimisation of our systems
  • To log all calls on the call logging system and maintain complete documentation
  • Supporting IT teams with advanced technical expertise, from safeguarding to network enhancements
  • Working with your IT colleagues, ensure that backups of all business systems are fully managed, maintained, documented and disaster recovery process procedures are regularly reviewed and tested
  • Adherence to all Group Information Security policies and procedures in all aspects of your job role
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure service excellence is delivered at all times
  • Provide on-call services as part of a shift rotation pattern

Essential

  • An understanding of Firewalls, Networking technologies, and Load Balancers.
  • Understanding network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across diverse systems,
  • infrastructure, and architecture, including but not limited to Microsoft AD, Group Policy, Windows Desktop & Windows Server OS (2012, 2016, 2022), DNS, DHCP, SCCM & MECM.
  • PowerShell scripting, Linux administration & SAN storage support
  • Virtualisation Technologies and especially in VMware/Hyper-V.
  • Experience in NetApp storage systems and management
  • Previous experience in an IT infrastructure role
