The Information Manager is a key member of the Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) Operations team, adding value for our patients through improving and developing information services across the Trust and wider health and care system.

Ensure the information is an effective component of the Trust’s Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) target operating model, working alongside others, delivering continuous overall improvement.

This role is part of establishing the ‘engine room’ of DDaT operations, transitioning from outsourced arrangements to an in-house delivery model. The post holder with work with the Head of Digital Operations to ensure that the information team has the right skill mix to cover all the service requirements.

They will manage a team providing analytical expertise and providing insight and business intelligence to support defined areas of operational delivery across the organisation. The post holder will ensure that information services deliver for the overall Trust vision.

They will ensure that essential systems, applications, infrastructure and information are enabled and managed with a consistent, expert and professional team, appropriate governance, structures, stakeholder buy-in, and supporting technology.

Ensure that business intelligence and information drive strategic decision-making to support the achievement of Trust and System objectives across the following areas; Statistics and planning, Benchmarking and Care Quality, Performance and Quality, Finance and Income Reporting, Activity and Cost, Operational Efficiency and Reporting.

  • Undertake forecast modelling and predictive analysis to support operational recovery.
  • Interpret national policy, and lead the assessment of the impacts locally (in terms of activity, and performance).
  • Oversee highly complex analyses, communicating the results clearly and understandably to stakeholders of varying levels of knowledge.
  • Take a holistic approach to ensure design, development and delivery of analytics and business intelligence in an innovative and meaningful way. Utilise BI tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Qlik Sense and R) to deliver analytics and intelligence ensuring all data products are delivered to best practice.
  • Ensure the information team applies advanced levels of technical expertise in the manipulation of spreadsheets and databases, and use of statistical tools and techniques.
  • Communicate within the Trust and across the health and care system on matters which are often highly sensitive, complex, and contentious in nature, relating to service improvement and reconfiguration where there will frequently be resistance to change.
