We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented illustrator or animator Volunteer to help develop compelling visual content that supports SEDSConnective mission and engages our vibrant community.

We are user led and are powered entirely by our passionate team of volunteers. We value the talent, perspective and commitment that comes from those who understand the unique challenges faced by people with both neurodivergent conditions and physical health co-occurrences such as hypermobility.
What are we looking for?
Proficiency in Canva is essential - this is our primary and preferred design tool. We can provide access to our professional Canva account, and all design work must be completed within Canva to ensure the team can access and edit materials as needed.
Personal Qualities
This volunteer role focuses on creating visually engaging graphics and design materials that communicate SEDSConnective vision and activities effectively across various platforms. The Graphics Volunteer will work closely with the Chair and other team members to ensure consistent branding and high-quality visual content that resonates with our audience.
Experience with Canva is essential, along with a strong understanding of visual communication principles. A passion for our vision is always a bonus.

- Experience with social media graphics and understanding of platform-specific requirements.
- Availability during daytime hours for responsive communication and collaboration via WhatsApp.
- Flexible, approximately 5–7 hours per week – during busier times, projects/events dependent, sometimes less. Welcome to help us in different ways during the less busy time!

Key Responsibilities
- Visual Content Creation
- Design graphics for social media posts, leaflets, flyers; stories and campaigns using Canva in line with SEDSConnective branding guidelines
- Create eye-catching visuals for announcements, events, educational content, and fundraising initiatives using our Canva professional account.
- Develop infographics and educational materials that effectively communicate complex information within the Canva platform – the use of a different graphic system is welcome as long as the final result is transferred to be able to access it via Canva.
- Brand Consistency
- Ensure all visual materials align with SEDSConnective brand identity and style guidelines.
- Maintain and update the organisation visual asset library for easy access and future use.
- Work with the team to refine and evolve the visual brand as needed.
- Campaign Support
- Collaborate with trustees and volunteers to understand design needs for specific campaigns and initiatives.
- Support ongoing campaigns with timely delivery of high-quality visual assets.
- Create materials for both digital and print applications as required.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with the Website and Content team to ensure visual consistency across all platforms.
- Provide creative input and recommendations for improving visual communication and engagement.
- Essential to be able to communicate with other volunteers patiently and accept adjustments or changes of designs with composure + explain issues with designs at times.
- Attend occasional online team or WhatsApp meetings to discuss project requirements and deadlines.
