About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and ambitious HR Assistant to join the UK HR team based in Leicester, supporting a workforce of 450 employees across 2 x Leicester sites.


This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all areas of HR, including employee relations and recruitment, with the chance to develop your expertise and progress in your career.

You will be part of a collaborative team consisting of the UK HR Manager, HR Officer, and two HR Assistants (including this role).


To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have a minimum of 12-18 months previous experience working within a HR environment along with a degree or CIPD qualification. However if you have a degree only but keen to obtain CIPD, the company would love to support you with this!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all HR and payroll queries.
  • Provide HR administration support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, and policy updates.
  • Assist with Employee Relations (ER) cases as required.
  • Support with HR projects and initiatives, with exposure to various HR functions.
  • Recruit for blue collar roles, working closely with Managers.
  • Maintain and update the HR & Payroll system (SAP) - experience in SAP is not essential, but confidence in using HR systems is required.
  • Work closely with production managers from different nationalities, requiring excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Travel occasionally between two Leicester-based sites, so a full UK driving license is required.


What We're Looking For:

  • Strong HR administration experience.
  • 12-18 months previous experience working within a HR role.
  • Some experience supporting Employee Relations (ER) cases.
  • Degree-educated or CIPD qualification (if you have a degree but no CIPD, there is opportunity).
  • Confidence in using HR systems and handling payroll-related queries.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with managers and employees.
