Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

To support the growth ambition of our Human Factors Integration (HFI) capability, we are looking to recruit a Human Factors Consultant to join our Applied Human Sciences team. The Applied Human Sciences Team at Frazer-Nash is a multidisciplinary team of Human Factors experts and Behavioural Scientists with experience across multiple domains. We work on a range of cutting edge, interesting and impactful projects, across a number of sectors including, but not limited to, energy, defence, space, and government and infrastructure, transport, process and manufacturing, and transport.
Working within a variety of project teams, you will be operating at the Technical Lead and/or Project Manager level. You will be delivering Human Factors work programmes as part of multidisciplinary projects undertaken by our teams. There is also the opportunity to undertake research into a range of Human Factors related topics directly for our clients.
The role requires a deep understanding of the role of Human Factors within multidisciplinary projects and the ability to plan and deliver Human Factors activities as part of a wider programme. Knowledge of Systems Engineering is a necessity, and experience of integrating Human Factors within other engineering, technology and other project-related services is expected. Ideally you will have experience of working in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment and ideally you will have experience within the defence and/or nuclear sectors.
We are looking for ambitious, intelligent and inquisitive individuals, who can solve challenging Human Factors problems and deliver robust solutions for our clients. You will have an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Human Factors, and you must be an existing (or seeking to become) a member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
Essential Skills
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.

Essential Skills
- Ability to develop HF strategies for delivering complex projects, from both a technical and commercial perspective.
- A thorough knowledge of human factors and experience in implementing HFI activities (e.g. early human factors analysis, human factors integration planning, ergonomic analysis, quantitative and qualitative human error and reliability assessments, workload assessments).
- Ability to manage projects from a technical and commercial perspective and to give specific direction to others as to how to complete well-defined tasks and monitor their performance within the project.
- Ability to author and review complex technical deliverables.
- Identify and support business development opportunities resulting in the preparation of estimates, proposals, budgets and documentation.
- Possess an excellent understanding and track record of undertaking formal HF analyses as applied to engineering programmes.
- Experience of forming and maintaining positive working relationships with customers.
- The ability to provide technical leadership/mentoring within projects to junior members of the team.
- Actively contribute to the overall vision and strategy for the human factors team.
- Experience of implementing human factors strategies across a wide range of safety critical industries is desirable.
