Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic [Higher] HR Apprentice to join our team based in Slough. You will work alongside our experienced HR team, gaining practical experience including employee relations, onboarding, and administration.

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop key skills in Human Resources while contributing to the smooth functioning of our HR department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the roll-out of the new HR system.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, including preparing new hire documentation and ensuring employees are properly welcomed into the company.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring that all personal and employment-related data is accurate and up to date.
  • Support HR initiatives related to employee engagement, well-being, and development programs.
  • Provide administrative support across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Assist in maintaining employee communication channels, helping to draft HR-related communications.
  • Handle general HR inquiries and assist in resolving employee concerns in collaboration with HR team members.
  • Study towards a formal qualification up to CIPD level 3.
  • Assist with the administration of eye test vouchers for employees.
  • Assist with the offboarding process, ensuring all relevant processes are followed.

Essential

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, HR software, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in HR.

Desirable

  • An understanding of HR functions and employment law.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • A Level 2 qualification in HR or a related field (optional).
