The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to provide maternity cover for 12 months on a part-time basis. Reporting to the HR Director, you will deliver a high-quality HR advisory service across the organisation — supporting managers and employees with employee relations, policy, recruitment, and change initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on advisory work and contributing to broader people initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Act as first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear and practical advice to managers and employees.
  • Lead on or support employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and external advisors as required.
  • Promote a positive and fair working culture through effective communication and early intervention.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support the HR Director and Hiring Managers with recruitment processes.
  • Oversee onboarding, induction and probation reviews to ensure a smooth employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate HR and recruitment records.

HR Policy & Compliance

  • Support the review, update and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company standards.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with payroll and benefits administration.

Change Management & Projects

  • Assist with organisational change processes such as restructures, consultations, and role evaluations.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives linked to employee engagement, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.

Coaching & Support

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to line managers on performance management, absence, and employee development.
  • Support delivery of internal HR briefings or training sessions as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, professional, and adaptable, with the ability to balance advisory expertise and practical delivery.

You Will Bring

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience managing employee relations cases
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and coaching skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach and ability to work independently
  • Experience in a manufacturing or technology environment
  • Exposure to supporting change or organisational development projects

What We Offer In Return

  • Competitive salary (pro-rata)
  • 26 days holiday (pro-rata) plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Employee bonus scheme
  • Access to Westfield Health Plan
  • Development opportunities and a supportive working environment
