I have an INCREDIBLE opportunity for several Housing Support Workers working within the Blaenau Gwent areas for a leading charitable organisation supporting service users' transition from long-term psychiatric care back to independent living within the local community.
Supporting a small caseload of service users, to build relationships with them secure tenancy and integrate them back into their community. This is an incredibly REWARDING role for the right candidate who is PASSIONATE and wants to help service users get on their feet in their new homes and live independently.

- Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (Pro Rata)
- Location: Blaenau Gwent
- Hours: 33 hours per week (3 shifts per week)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Shift Times: Rolling rota covering days, nights and weekends

- Provide social, emotional, and practical support with a trauma-informed approach and focus on Recovery.
- Work with the person to create support plans based on the person's identified goals and provide support in line with the plan.
- Lead on assessment for individuals referred to the homes, obtaining additional information, as necessary.
- Support people to maximise their finances and manage their budget.
- Lead on reviewing support progress and risk assessments/keeping safe plans; to update plans accordingly.
- Work with people to develop the skills to keep their self and others safe and well.
- Encourage people, we work with to provide their views on the service, e.g., through feedback surveys.
- Take the lead on liaising with other agencies with and on behalf of people we work with as part of planned support, including participation in joint meetings ensuring collaboration and effective support planning.
- Support people to access information and advice in order that they can make informed choices in matters that affect them, to promote their independence.
- Discuss a person, change with goals, risks, and ability to keep safe and well with the service manager.
- An ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships with those people who use the service. You will understand the value of setting safe boundaries and expectations and be able to do so whilst modelling positive relationships, care, kindness, and compassion.
- A high level of emotional intelligence; to be non-judgemental, resilient, and empathetic. This candidate will also be a strong communicator.
- Experience in representing and advocating the needs of service users.
- Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs disrupted attachments interpersonal difficulties and challenging behaviour.
- A willingness to reflect positively on feedback with a desire to further personal learning.
- You will be able to work under your own initiative and be responsive to changing priorities
- You will have a good understanding of the wide range of community and third-sector organisations operating across the area.
- You must have a full driving licence and be prepared to travel as part of this role.
- The rota is a rolling rota. This rota includes shift patterns that cover mornings, afternoons, nights, and occasional weekend work.
