City of York Council

Date: 1 week ago
City: York
Contract type: Full time
INTERNAL VACANCY

Do you want to play a part in the delivery of “the UK’s most ambitious council-led housing programme in a generation”? Are you interested in starting a career in sustainable development or looking for a new challenge?

The City of York Council’s housing delivery programme is receiving international attention for its commitment to building great new places to live which are inclusive, healthy and good for the environment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Housing Projects Coordinator to join our team, who will work with our project team and including some of the country’s best architects to bring forward new, zero carbon neighbourhoods which meet the needs of current and future generations. Our projects look to provide affordable homes for first time buyers, growing families and those in retirement.

You will join a highly motivated and supportive team and will be able to develop your knowledge and skills in many different aspects of development. You will coordinate and support on all aspects of the projects from inception through to public engagement and design, planning, procurement, construction and handover.

We don’t expect you to be an expert on all aspects of development but good communication skills, being well organised, self-motivated and having an interest in housing are all key to the success of our programme. Training and support will be provided.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you – come and join our housing revolution!

This post is suitable as a job share opportunity.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.

For further information or an informal discussion please contact Charlotte Bates at [email protected] or on 01904 552895.

Closing date: Sunday 3 November 2024 at 12 midnight

Interview date: w/c 4 November 2024

Internally advertised posts are only open to CYC, WWY and Be Independent employees. Explore and Veritau employees are not eligible to apply for these posts.
