About The Role
Working Pattern: Full-time, shift-based role (including weekends and bank holidays). Flexibility required to meet operational needs.
Role Purpose
To lead and coordinate the hotel maintenance team, ensuring all facilities are safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards. This role is critical in delivering an exceptional guest experience by minimizing downtime, maintaining a positive customer perception, and adhering to all statutory and company compliance requirements.

About The Role

Role Purpose
To lead and coordinate the hotel maintenance team, ensuring all facilities are safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards. This role is critical in delivering an exceptional guest experience by minimizing downtime, maintaining a positive customer perception, and adhering to all statutory and company compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Shift Management
- Supervise a small team of maintenance technicians across rotating shifts.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Maintain accurate shift handover notes and ensure continuity of service.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety legislation, fire safety standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain statutory compliance (e.g., water hygiene, electrical safety, gas safety).
- Keep up-to-date records of maintenance checks and certifications for regulatory purposes.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Maintain high standards of presentation in all guest-facing areas to reinforce a positive brand image.
- Communicate effectively with hotel operations teams to minimize disruption to guests during maintenance work.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns and extend asset life.
- Manage reactive repairs efficiently, prioritizing safety and guest satisfaction.
- Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Monitor and report on team performance, maintenance KPIs, and compliance status.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Support sustainability initiatives through energy-saving and waste-reduction practices.
- Proven experience in maintenance within hospitality or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements (H&S, fire safety, water hygiene, etc.).
- Leadership experience managing small teams and shift patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
