Job Summary/Purpose

The Hod Carrier is responsible for the loading, unloading and transporting of materials and will give assistance to the bricklayers as required.

Primary Responsibilities

Daily Duties

  • Loading, unloading and transporting materials such as bricks, stone, block, mortar and other construction materials to the bricklayers on a construction site
  • Preparing materials for use by the bricklayer
  • Working safely and efficiently
  • Following safety procedures and working efficiently
  • Working well as a team to meet project deadlines

Teamwork

  • Provide assistance to the bricklaying team.

Health and Safety

  • Keep walkways clear / traffic management

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • Experience is construction industry
  • Physical stamina and ability to carry heavy loads
  • The ability to travel to various sites across the region
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Have an awareness of safety issues
  • Ability to work in a construction environment
