About The Role

The Highways Engineer will work as part of the Asset Management Team, responsible for delivering an Asset Management Programme to the carriageway and footway network, drainage systems and road markings, this includes the Improving Barnet’s Roads programme, with the aim of improving the condition of the Borough’s highways infrastructure.

Post holder will provide technical support in the effective and efficient provision, design and execution of projects, schemes, investigations and analysis as required. Post holder will be responsible for effective customer and stakeholder engagement and awareness, providing customer service excellence at all times.

About You

  • You must be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Transportation, with a minimum of 2 years Post-Graduate Experience
  • Demonstrable Engineering, Transportation, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of highways and transport policies and associated working knowledge of legislation
  • Good IT Skills – including the use of Autocad and Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • The ability to set and work to personal deadlines and targets to meet the requirements of programmes of work, to meet clients' needs and to respond to targets set by others
