We're looking for a Highway Inspector to become a key part of our team based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. In this hands-on role, you'll help us maintain and protect our local highways through regular safety inspections both on foot and by vehicle, identifying defects and ensuring the right maintenance measures are in place.
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
What will you be responsible for?
As a Highway Inspector, you'll join our Highway Inspection team, a dedicated group working within the Asset Management and Professional Services division, supporting both West Northamptonshire and North Northamptonshire contracts.

Every Day Brings Something Different. You'll Be
- Carrying out safety inspections in line with national standards, including the Highway Safety Inspection Manual and Code of Practice Well-Managed Highway Infrastructure
- Recording your findings in our asset management system
- Preparing detailed work packs for rectifying defects
- Managing your own monthly schedule of inspections both walked and driven routes
We're Looking For a Highway Inspector Who
- Has experience conducting highway inspections
- Comes from a background in highway maintenance or a similar field
- Understands the importance of public safety and has the organisational skills to manage their own inspection programme
