Job Summary

Walsall CAMHS - 22.5 hours a week (8b Post).

Please note that this is a post based in Walsall CAMHS, however you can be expected to cover and support in other areas of the Black Country.

Exciting opportunities are happening within Walsall CAMHS. As a clinical team we have been involved in a redesign and restructure of our services to ensure that we are providing the best evidence based practice and care in the most suitable way we can.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8b Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join uswithin Walsall CAMHS. We are looking for an ACP registered, qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to deliver psychoanalytic psychotherapy treatment. They will support fellow psychotherapy colleagues within Walsall CAMHS and as required across the Black Country.

About Us

CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, specialist nurses, family therapists, play therapist, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatrists, who are passionate in their aim to work with children, young people and their families in developing creative solutions to improve their mental health difficulties. BCHFT CAMHS currently operates across four geographical areas (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton) with contracts in each area. Each of the teams have a specialist learning disability team, dedicated to children and young people with a moderate to severe learning disability and specialist Children and Young People in Care Teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a keenness and ability to integrate their current skills and apply them in this context. Important qualities are good communication skills, working co-operatively and thinking creatively. They must have the skills to lead, reflect and manage some complex situations.

  • oThe post holder must hold a doctoral level equivalent in clinical Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at a training school accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP)
  • oFull Membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) and evidence of continuous professional development as required by the ACP.
  • oEvidence of completing relevant post qualifying supervised clinical experience.

Desirable

  • oFurther qualification in specialised area of psychotherapy or related field.
  • oExperience of teaching/providing training.
