Health & Safety Advisor

Join our team as a Health and Safety Advisor and play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment at Heathrow Airport. You'll take a hands-on approach by attending site safety meetings, conducting HSE audits, and promoting our Near Miss and Behavioural Safety programs. With a focus on timely accident reporting and investigation, you'll support the HSE Manager and provide expert advice to staff and stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of health and safety initiatives, from equipment audits to new site mobilisations, ensuring a safer workplace for all.

A typical day in the life as a Health and Safety Advisor:

• Taking an active and visible role within the HSE team via site attendance, site safety meetings and other opportunities as and when they arise.
• To ensure that accidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner. Providing support to the HSE Manager in any enquiry involving authorities (e.g. HSE) should this be an outcome of an accident or incident.
• To conduct HSE Inspection Audits in accordance with the Schedule and to provide support where required to achieve a timely resolution of any findings.
• To promote the company Near Miss and Behavioral Safety programs at all Heathrow Airport ensuring our staff use the program and understand its reason for existence.
• To conduct regular audits of WJ tools & equipment, and hired equipment, to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and suitability for the tasks intended.
• To provide advice on HSE related matters to WJ staff, and other stakeholders, when required or when you see fit.
  
  

What are we looking for?

• Must hold NEBOSH qualification
• Proven experience within a Health and Safety team
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Good IT Skills – Word & Excel
• Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
• Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
• Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

• Environmental Awareness
• Knowledge of working as an Airport Services provider
• Knowledge of supporting people with additional needs / moving and handling of persons
