The shift pattern for this position is 4/7 includes weekends, night shift and public holidays. It is a full time post but part time hours will be considered.

Ailsa ward is an established 20 bedded, mixed sex, adult mental health rehabilitation and continuing care ward within Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow. The ward provides care and treatment to adults with a range of treatment resistant mental health conditions which have impacted on people’s social and personal functioning. Our aim as a Nursing team is to work very closely and collaboratively with our patient group, our Consultant Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapists, Psychology and Therapeutic Activity Nurses to provide excellent, holistic, evidence-based patient centred care with a focus on supporting patients and their families on a journey to recovery and to a productive life out with a hospital setting.
As an MDT, we encourage a psychological approach to recovery, centred on an ethos of empowering patients through Cognitive Remediation Therapy to improve outcomes, functioning and interpersonal skills, we also carry out regular psychological formulation sessions for our MDT to attend, to assist us in understanding how best to develop care plans to achieve the best for our patients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to work within the Mental Health In-patients service based at Stobhill Hospital. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our professional and dedicated team. The post-holder will be responsible for contributing to the care and support of people and will provide care and support as part of an agreed plan of care which involves the use of a strength based recovery focused approach that proactively involves the person. You will be required to be undertake duties without direct supervision, work in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals / agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies.
When you join us in Ailsa ward you will also become part of the wider NHSGGC Mental Health Services and join a large caring, compassionate, professional team. We work collegiately, focusing on staff development as well as placing importance on caring for staff health and wellbeing. You will be supported through a robust induction, ongoing competency based training, and continuous professional development (CPD).
The post-holder directly contributes to safe, efficient service delivery and occasionally may be required to work across the mental health in-patient service (i.e. Stobhill site) providing nursing care to meet the needs of the service.
Highly Skilled, Motivated, Caring Staff Required
To join our team, you should have a demonstrable interest in General Adult Psychiatry and ideally a keen interest in the specialist care of people who need to build on their skills to live a fulfilling life away from a hospital care setting. Previous knowledge and experience of working in health & social care and supporting patients with Mental Health conditions would be advantageous although full training will be offered during the induction process.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, caring staff who are committed to providing excellent patient care with a focus on recovery and empowerment and carer involvement.
