Job Description

Join us as our Health and Safety Officer! Joining us as our Health and Safety Officer, you play a critical part in embedding consistent safety practices with sole site responsibility.

Hours of work Monday-Fri 08:00 to 16:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading proactive approach to HSE management and culture of care within the home delivery network, including wellbeing and environment engaging events.
  • Providing advice and support to teams to meet requirements of legislation and company processes & procedures and drive improvements.
  • Advice on site KPIs, drive weekly and monthly HSE focus the network and ensure consistency.
  • Coordinate and manage communications -briefing, information packs, policy guidance, toolbox talks etc. across the CDC network
  • Keeping regular contact/ meetings with onsite and CDC’s managing teams to ensure consistency in processes, hazard trends, Safety conversations and ensure those are clearly understood and effectively managed.
  • Internal audit spot checks on MSS, safety walks
  • Support investigations where required and provide feedback with claim defence focus
  • Monitor events uploaded onto Eco Online – Airsweb and ensure quality consistency and adherence to accident / incident investigation procedures, providing feedback and tools to manage/improve. Sign off incidents
  • Manage action plans / glide path through completion
  • Support CDC network with keeping the H&S management system up to date.

What will you bring to our team:

  • Proven experience of being an effective team member who is driven to achieve results through self-motivation.
  • Strong communication experience with internal and external clients.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and experience in continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of safety environment within Transport preferable.
  • Proven experience to resolve multiple and/or complex issues under pressure.
  • NEBOSH qualification preferred or willing to work towards
