What we are looking for:
We are looking for a professional and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to support both the Health & Safety Manager and Health & Safety Advisor in the delivery of health & safety support within the business. To provide appropriate health & safety advice to Dept. Managers, Team Managers Supervisors, Team Leaders and their teams to support the workforce. Ensure accident investigations are carried out to the Hilton Seafood standard and relevant procedures. Carry out inspections of all workplaces necessary to ensure that the business Health & Safety Policy is being adhered to. Assist with preparing and implementation of health & safety procedures including the Hilton Group Safety Framework. To create and review all H&S Assessments as required.

Key responsibilities as a Health and Safety Coordinator will be to:
- Ensure agreed H&S training is implemented and carry out H&S Training Audits to ensure the business is complying
- Pro-actively work with the H&S Team and all departments to ensure H&S compliance is maintained in all topics
- Complete various H&S assessments as requested by the H&S Manager/Advisor
- Participate in the work of the health & safety committee meetings and any other H&S related joint consultations affecting the workforce. Assist with the writing of the minutes and the issuing of them
- Attend various site project meetings giving H&S support with the individual project's development
- Undertake regular inspections of all sites and workplaces to determine if tasks are being carried out in accordance with the - Company policy, procedures and the relevant statutory provisions.
- Maintain records of inspections and produce KPI reports with recommendations for improvement when necessary
- Assist the H&S Manager/ H&S Advisor in the preparation and review of all H&S documents ensuring a high standard is maintained
- Ensure procedures and policies exist and are implemented to comply with standards of work / regulatory bodies including external Auditors
- Ensure key responsibilities are met including the management of databases/trackers and KPI reports are available when requested
- Assist with a clear training needs analysis for Health & Safety requirements for all department Managers and their teams
- Adherence to all Hilton Seafood Health & Safety procedures
- Provide appropriate health & safety support and advice to all sites as directed by the Health & Safety Manager/H&S Advisor
- Support and facilitate OCH management, ensuring health surveillance is carried out. Regular reviews with the H&S Manager to identify any concerns and to discuss any further OCH requirements.
- Support and facilitate the company's approach to employee well-being as directed by the Health & Safety Manager/H&S Advisor
- Support and facilitate the use of all H&S Management systems, example Worksafe, Ideagen and Foods Connect


Required experience/expertise to succeed as a Health and Safety Coordinator will include:
- Minimum of 2 years overall business experience
- Previous H&S and food manufacturing experience
- Experience of dealing with H&S reps and Representatives of Employee Safety
- Experienced in various assessments, including operational tasks, machinery, noise, fire, manual handling, CoSHH, pregnancy RA and DSE
- Proven track record in leading significant change initiatives that have delivered breakthrough results
- People management knowledge and experience, and strong cross-functional business acumen required
- Able to drive and lead change in H&S Behaviours
- Able to delegate when required
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel; proficient in Word & PowerPoint
- Lean / Continuous Improvement knowledge/expertise
- IOSH Certificate trained with the plan to develop and achieve Nebosh Certificate
