Hays Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively with The Green Energy Advice Bureau (GEAB) on the appointment of a Head of Talent. This is a newly created role within the organisation where you will play a critical role in shaping and executing their recruitment strategy.
This is an amazing opportunity to join a fast-growing, purpose driven organisation who is a leader within their field operating on a local and UK basis.
Based in Sunderland with flexible hybrid working, this strategic and operational role offers the chance to build and lead the talent function as the organisation grows into new areas.

The Role
As Head of Talent, you will lead the design and delivery of a comprehensive talent strategy, ensuring GEAB attracts, develops, and retains top-tier talent across all functions. You'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to embed a high-performance culture and drive forward key people initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking recruitment strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead all recruitment activity, including senior and specialist hiring.
- Build GEAB's employer brand and external talent pipelines.
- Coach hiring managers on best practices, including inclusive hiring and interview techniques.
- Oversee onboarding, ensuring a seamless and engaging candidate experience.
- Design and deliver learning and development programmes to support career growth.
- Collaborate on workforce planning and succession strategies.
- Use recruitment data and insights to inform decision-making.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all talent processes.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Proven experience leading talent acquisition and resourcing functions.
- Strong track record in employer branding and external talent engagement.
- In-depth knowledge of recruitment legislation and best practices.
- Experience managing both volume and niche recruitment campaigns.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to deliver operational excellence.
- Must be based in the North East region
- Eligibility to work in the UK
