Overview Of The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Supply Chain - Cement, you will be accountable for implementing and executing the Logistics and Supply strategy across the Aggregate Industries Cement Division.
You will control all scheduling activities including material sourcing, shipping and road logistics for circa 2 million tonnes of the division’s annual cementitious demand across a nationwide network that include manufactured, imported and domestically merchanted products.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director - Cement, you will lead Transport and Supply whilst also acting as the conduit between sales and production to deliver great customer service, optimise production, inventory, supply and sales planning whilst maintaining good relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Educated to degree level and ideally CIPS qualified, you'll have extensive experience in supply chain operations, preferably within the cement or construction materials sector.
A strategic thinker, you'll have the ability to evaluate and improve processes to achieve greater efficiencies and a proven ability in senior stakeholder management with a track record of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams across various functions towards achieving ambitious goals.
Analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work collaboratively across various departments are essential.
You'll also have a demonstrable background in supporting change and transformation projects, where collaboration with different areas of the business is key. Your strong communication and influencing skills are vital to build credibility and rapport across the organisation, along with your capability to plan and deliver effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that Health & Safety across the function is a priority and that all Safety Management Systems in place fully comply with Group and Legislative standards
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities and in conjunction with relevant business leads, establish appropriate team structures within each respective business unit in order to support the delivery of strategy.
- Review and improve business processes, demand forecasting and customer service levels in order to deliver a clear competitive advantage in terms of delivery performance and accuracy.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to deliver excellent operational service all year round. Manage to service and cost KPI’s, driving continuous improvement whilst managing the risk portfolio.
- Adopt innovative technologies and practices to increase supply chain agility and responsiveness.
- Monitor market trends to anticipate potential challenges and mitigate risks within the supply chain.
- Represent Aggregate Industries on the Worldwide Holcim Board for Category Management/Logistics
