IWS Water Hygiene, part of South Staffordshire Plc, is a market leader in water hygiene, legionella control, and treatment solutions.
We are now entering a major growth phase in our Water Treatment Division and we're seeking a commercially focused, technically confident Head of Sales and Operations to lead the charge.
The Role
This is a pivotal role with full responsibility for both sales strategy and operational execution across our Water Treatment Division. You’ll lead a national team, drive new business growth, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery to clients across industrial, commercial, and public sectors.
Key Responsibilities
IWS Water Hygiene (WH), is part of SSI Services (UK) Ltd, a division of South Staffordshire Plc. IWS (WH) provides services in all aspects of water hygiene and legionella control including legionella risk assessments into the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial, and retail customers. IWS (WH) has offices throughout the UK and work is undertaken the length and breadth of the country. The Role
This is a pivotal role with full responsibility for both sales strategy and operational execution across our Water Treatment Division. You’ll lead a national team, drive new business growth, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery to clients across industrial, commercial, and public sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sales, technical, and operational strategy for the Water Treatment Division
- Build and lead a high-performing sales and service team, expanding our technical, commercial, and field capabilities
- Deliver on revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction targets
- Build and manage a national sales and service team, including technical consultants and field engineers
- Expand our footprint in key sectors: manufacturing, pharma, facilities management, utilities
- Oversee operational delivery ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency
- Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships
- Collaborate with the executive team on innovation, pricing, and business model evolution
- Be part of a senior leadership team helping to guide the wider business strategy for IWS
- Represent the division across industry forums
- Experience leading commercial and operational teams in water treatment
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering growth
- Technical expertise in water systems (cooling towers, boilers, softeners, etc.)
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- Experience with public sector and industrial clients
- Relevant industry qualifications (Legionella control, water hygiene, chemical/process engineering)
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., HSG274, BSRIA)
- A competitive salary from £70,000 per annum plus bonus
