The Opportunity

Now, we’re looking for a dynamic Head of Testing and Validation to lead our Test by Design Department and drive operational excellence at the heart of our R&D.

This is more than a management role - it’s a chance to shape how we test, validate, and deliver cutting-edge safety technology. You’ll lead a talented team of engineers and technicians, optimise workflows, and ensure our test programmes run like with precision and reliability. Your leadership will directly impact the speed, quality, and innovation of our new product development.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the operational delivery of the Test by Design Department, ensuring all test activities are well planned, resourced, and executed to deadlines.
• Inspire and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with R&D and Operations to align testing with project goals and timelines
• Drive process discipline across documentation, data logging, equipment usage, and health & safety
• Optimise departmental KPIs, capacity planning, and resource scheduling to maximise throughput and minimise bottlenecks
• Champion lean thinking and operational excellence across the department
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Proven track record in leading operational teams in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to a testing, validation, or laboratory environment (mechanical, materials, or product testing).
• Strong people management skills with experience of building team capability, managing performance, and driving engagement.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, including resource scheduling and workload balancing.
• Confidence in driving process improvements and embedding efficient, repeatable workflows.
