Director of Product
Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in Oxfordshire)
Type: Permanent | Senior Leadership Position
An opportunity has arisen for a strategic and digitally-minded Director of Product to lead the transformation of a growing assessment portfolio. With significant investment secured and executive-level backing, this is a pivotal leadership role focused on defining a product vision that positions the organisation at the forefront of digital assessment.
This role requires a hands-on, senior product leader who is ready to shape the roadmap, embed new operating models, and lead a cross-functional team through a period of organisational growth and capability building. The successful candidate will drive product innovation across assessment experiences, integrating cutting-edge technologies, such as AI and adaptive delivery, while fostering a customer-centric and agile product culture.

The successful candidate will drive product innovation across assessment experiences, integrating cutting-edge technologies, such as AI and adaptive delivery, while fostering a customer-centric and agile product culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver a clear, commercially-aligned product strategy and roadmap
- Embed agile product development processes and coach a maturing product team through new ways of working
- Build and lead cross-functional product squads, working closely with technology, research, and commercial stakeholders
- Drive innovation through the use of AI and emerging digital technologies in assessment
- Establish strong partnerships with external technology suppliers, ensuring smooth delivery and operational efficiency
- Translate research insights into validated, scalable product propositions
- Mentor and develop a high-performing product function with strong digital and UX capabilities
- Proven experience in senior product leadership, ideally within digital learning, education technology, or assessment
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies and experience embedding product operating models in evolving environments
- Ability to work across technology, research, and commercial teams to drive aligned product outcomes
- Skilled in managing third-party technology relationships and navigating complex delivery ecosystems
- Technically literate – able to engage confidently in discussions involving digital platforms, tools, and data-driven solutions
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills, with experience building and mentoring teams
