Your new role
Hays Procurement are excited to be recruiting a Head of Procurement for a global organisation on a full time, permanent basis. The Head of Procurement is an exciting role which plays an instrumental part in driving the strategic direction of the business sourcing strategy as you will lead, develop, and execute commodity strategies within assigned business units, directly aligned to our overall business strategy & priorities as well as the business units. Alongside this, as Head of Procurement, you will lead and manage a small team responsible for the commodities across their aligned business units.
The Head of Procurement is ultimately accountable for managing all aspects of ‘best in class’ key supplier relationships and for the maximising of supplier productivity across both hard and soft savings, looking both internally and externally.
You will keep abreast, at a strategic level, of the supplier market outlook, innovation, products, and pricing and use your market knowledge and information to identify products and suppliers where necessary. You will also facilitate access to supplier innovation and product development within the market.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to learn and leverage the global buying power that comes from being part of the Linde group, as you collaborate and work closely with the regional and global teams sharing learnings and best practices of working.
What You'll Need To Succeed
You will have experience in a similar level senior/management procurement role, ideally within a large national or global company. The successful candidate will ideally be educated to a degree level or equivalent and/or hold CIPS/MCIPS qualifications.
You will be able to demonstrate experience and skills in strategic sourcing/procurement at a senior level and able to demonstrate successful leadership skills by managing people, teams & change with experience in building and engaging an effective team.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to develop positive working relationships both internally and externally, particularly with senior stakeholders.
In this role you will need to possess an excellent level of commercial and business acumen, with an understanding of the nature of the business's products and services, and be comfortable working in a complex and changing organisation.
Finally, you will have proven project management skills with the ability to drive continuous improvements, savings, and best practices with the ability to influence change successfully and cross-functionally at multiple levels.
