ABOUT US:

Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school aged immunisations, including Influenza, to pupils across numerous counties across England and all boroughs of North London.

We are also commissioned by NHS England in North London to provide outbreak response in the event of a vaccine preventable disease outbreak, and we provide the infant BCG programme to newborns in North London.

Our mission is to fight disease and save lives by making prevention and treatment easy, accessible and safe.

JOB DETAILS:

Job title: Head of Operations

Contract: Fixed Term - 12 months

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

JOB PURPOSE:

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the service we provide is of the highest standard across all contract areas. You will work with key stakeholders both internal and external including the UK Director, the operational team, NHSE Commissioners, ICB Directors, and core functions such as Finance and HR. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring that the service we deliver is in line with performance and quality KPIs both internal and external. You will support and lead the operational team making sure that operational KPIs are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as a part of the ELT/SLT to set goals and work towards increasing revenue.
  • Assist in driving new business through working with the bid team on ITT processes.
  • Using data, deliver finance and performance baselines and identify any wider strategic priorities and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the core finance function to ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
  • Working with UK Director and the SLT to establish and implement operational KPI's and monitor successes against these KPI's.
  • Along with Clinical Director report on contract performance to both internal and external stakeholders including SLT and NHS Commissioners.
  • Where KPI's are not met establish and implement mitigations to address these under performances alongside the Clinical Director & VUKD.
  • Where KPI's are exceeded share organisational learning to inform future strategies.
  • Ensure the efficiency, reliability and continuous improvement of the services we provide ensuring we meet KPI’s within agreed budgets.
  • Alongside Clinical Director develop and implement qualitative and quantitative measures to ensure programmes meet and exceed both internal and external KPIs and quality metrics.
  • Driving growth within the business including, bidding for new business, submitting business cases for contract variations and sourcing new business opportunities.
  • Continue to win business from existing and new clients by understanding and anticipating their requirements.
  • Responsible for completing ITT Documentation in conjunction with SLT.
  • Provide line management for operational team.
  • Play a key role in building a team culture/ethos.
  • Manage, motivate and develop staff within the team to ensure that they can meet the required standard for their current role whilst developing their competence ready for the next.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to members of the operational team to foster a collaborative and high- performing work environment.
  • Ensure that team culture remains focussed on cooperation, drive, compassion, inclusivity, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Lead, support and contribute to formal negotiations with senior staff from external stakeholders, providing a high level of negotiating expertise.
  • Ensure that our strategy is in line with business objective and are fully cascaded to key stakeholders.
  • Along with Clinical Director drive and lead development and improvement of policies and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and service enhancements including making operational efficiencies and utilising technology.
  • Oversee the implementation of new features and updates to Riviam to ensure that these changes meet service requirements.
  • Develop relationships with NHS Digital and CHIS systems across our contract areas to ensure integrations and the interoperability of VUK Systems as per contract requirements.
  • Play key role in developing VUKs reputation in the sector by building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Alongside Clinical Director ensure that our services are planned, scheduled and implemented in line with commissioner requirements.
  • Alongside Clinical Director ensure the system's reliability, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Work collaboratively with different teams and departments to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.
  • Comply with Company policies & procedures.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Evidence of Higher Education EG: Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Project Management or Programme Management Qualification desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge working operationally in healthcare.
  • Extensive knowledge working with NHSE.
  • Experience in ITT processes.
  • Extensive experience in service delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Stakeholder management.
