Pharma-Partners is currently supporting a leading global biopharmaceutical company seeking to hire a Head of Medical Affairs – Oncology to lead and develop the UK Medical Affairs strategy for its innovative Oncology portfolio. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to drive medical excellence, shape strategic direction, and deliver meaningful impact for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Oncology Medical Affairs team, ensuring delivery of the UK & Ireland medical strategy in alignment with global objectives.
  • Act as the senior medical leader, representing the Oncology therapy area both internally and externally.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key opinion leaders, professional societies, and healthcare organisations.
  • Oversee evidence generation, including clinical studies, real-world data, and publication planning.
  • Ensure medical governance, compliance with ABPI Code of Practice, and uphold the highest ethical standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with commercial, market access, and regulatory teams to support business objectives while maintaining medical independence.
  • Mentor and develop the Oncology medical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence.
  • Represent the company in external forums, conferences, and advisory boards as the Oncology medical lead.

The Candidate:

  • UK registered MD, or advanced scientific qualification (PhD, PharmD) with significant Medical Affairs leadership experience.
  • Strong track record of senior roles in Medical Affairs, ideally with specific experience in Oncology.
  • Deep understanding of the UK pharmaceutical environment and regulatory framework, including ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, driving strategy, and managing cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Remuneration:

  • Basic annual salary depending on experience plus a comprehensive benefits package.
