Head of Governance and Risk (£75,075 per annum, full-time, 12-14 months maternity cover)

The vacancy

Our vision is to deliver places to live and space to grow for our current and future residents. If you are passionate about the role a housing association can play in society and believe the values of an organisation are what makes it special, this is a great opportunity to work for a leading local organisation.

We are looking for an Interim Head of Governance and Risk to lead our corporate governance and risk management functions for 12 to 14 months starting in March 2024, while the current postholder is on maternity leave.

As a trusted advisor, you will support the Executive Team and Board and its committees on all issues relating to corporate governance, compliance and risk management.

The successful postholder will support Board recruitment and preparation for Regulatory Inspections during their tenure.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced governance and risk management professional looking for their next challenge.

What we are looking for

You will have substantial experience as the in-house expert leading on governance, risk management and assurance, and data protection.

A thorough understanding of corporate governance in the housing sector is essential, along with experience in advising Boards and Executive Leaders on governance matters.

You will also bring expertise in risk management and assurance, including the development and oversight of risk management frameworks, supporting processes and procedures, and overseeing the delivery of an annual internal audit programme

You will have a high level of personal integrity and an ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with a can-do attitude.

What will you get in return?

The opportunity to work for a successful and dynamic housing association that has a focus on a good customer experience, delivering for its communities, at its heart, and the wellbeing and development of its people constantly in focus.

You’ll have access to a generous pension scheme and an employee assistance programme, flexible working, volunteering days and healthcare cash plan, plus many more.

Location

This role will be based in our Sevenoaks office. We offer a flexible approach to hybrid working with most full-time employees working in the office two days a week.
