With your assistance, we will ensure that our grant writing and related resources accurately reflect our organisation's vision and impact.
You will help our organisation by building brand awareness, driving demand for our products and services, and cultivating strong relationships with service users, customers, volunteers and employees. With your support, we will strategically improve employee engagement, facilitate crisis management, and align internal teams with organisational goals. By using the right messages and channels, our organisation can generate leads, increase income, and achieve strategic objectives.

Since 1999, we've been dedicated to delivering health and social care to millions across Africa and the Diaspora, and now we're ready to elevate our impact further.
This year, we're embarking on a mission to broaden our funding strategy by incorporating fundraising, marketing and communications. Our goal is to engage with the African and UK public, providing essential practical and emotional support to those facing chronic conditions. We need a visionary like you to help us achieve our goals.
We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Fundraising who can develop and execute a winning strategy to secure the necessary financial backing. There are numerous exciting possibilities ahead, including major donors, individual giving, central government tenders, local and statutory opportunities, and marketing and communications. We're eager to explore them all.
In this pivotal role, you'll plan and execute our fundraising writing efforts and communications, ensuring that our fundraising proposals not only shine but also come to life in meaningful ways. If you're a grant writer who thrives on creativity and collaboration, we want to hear from you! What are we looking for?

Experience and Knowledge
- Educated to a degree level
- At least five years of proven experience in fundraising and/or marketing/communications work in a values-led organisation.
- A strong track record of securing income from a range of sources, including trusts/foundations, individual giving and/or legacy giving.
- Experience in developing and delivering fundraising strategies and campaigns that are ethical, inclusive and effective.
- Demonstrated ability to produce engaging, accessible communications and marketing materials.
- Understanding the issues facing African and Black people with different medical conditions, and the interplay with wider social determinants of health, and a commitment to inclusive practice.
- Experience of working alongside people with lived experience in the co-design or co-production of fundraising or communications activity.
- Knowledge of data protection and fundraising regulation in the UK.
Skills and Abilities
- Strategic thinker with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver high-quality work across multiple areas.
- Skilled communicator who can tailor messages for different audiences and build trust with stakeholders.
- Excellent written skills, including the ability to tell stories in ways that are values-driven and impactful.
- Confident in managing budgets and reporting on impact.
- Collaborative leadership style – able to work across teams, line manage staff, and model inclusive leadership.
