The Head of Finance - corporate and reporting is a key senior role within the North West regional finance team, leading a high-quality internal finance function for the region. It will take someone who can build strong relationships across the organisation, and who can cut through complexity. This role will provide the successful candidate with insight into how NHS England works and the key challenges facing the NHS in the North West. You will work with a fantastic team, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The Head of Finance will lead on budget setting, and in-year financial management for the regional office’s c. £80m annual budget. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Head of Finance will make a broader contribution to the delivery of the operational finance team’s objectives, supporting additional reporting around the overall NHS financial performance in the region, capital and/or other specific pieces of work as required.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of budget setting and financial reporting.
They will be able to build strong relationships across the organisation and will be confident in all aspects of managing the team.
They will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy, including making judgements and decisions with limited supervision.
They will have highly developed communication skills (both written and verbal), able to simplify complex issues.
The successful candidate will have a strong sense of integrity and a commitment to developing the team.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
