The Head of Costing and Finance Systems is responsible for Abcam’s inventory accounting and finance systems globally.

This position reports to the Finance Director – Supply Chain & Manufacturing and is part of the Finance Team located in Cambridge and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Own Abcam’s inventory accounting globally, ensuring accurate standard costing, variance analysis and monthly reporting
• Ensure correct financial procedures are maintained and adhered to across inventory, including Sox compliance and audit support
• Lead a global team of costing accountants and finance systems SMEs
• Coordinate with Abcam’s supply chain team to promote ongoing improvements in inventory turnover and working capital
• Perform analysis to improve gross margin, consider make vs buy and enhance manufacturing productivity
• Manage a pipeline of finance systems enhancements with a small team, coordinating with controllership, Abcam Digital and outsourced providers
  
  

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Qualified accountant
• Significant experience in inventory accounting for manufacturing environment
• Leadership and team management experience
  
  

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Life sciences industry
• Oracle finance suite
