Eleven are delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing Climate Tech start-up, who are looking to identify an experienced Technical Manager, for a Head Of Chemistry opening in the team, having successfully closed a significant Series A investment round.

The company’s mission is to move the automotive battery industry to a revolutionary coating process under development, to decarbonise and improve electrode production, an innovation which hasn't been seen before.

Their innovations have generated significant commercial interest, resulting in their products being trialled by a number of some of the most recognizable companies in the automotive industry.

While they continue to scale-up their processes, this hire is now mission critical to the continued growth of the company.

Specifically, they are looking for someone who can lead and grow a team of exceptional scientists and chemists, while leading experimental programs to develop or improve products, as well as leading process technology transfer within the company or between customers/partners.

At the cutting edge of carbon reduction in the automotive industry, this is an opportunity to make your mark with one of the bright lights in the UK Clean Tech space, leading an established but growing team to support the company’s commercialisation efforts.

You Will

Support laboratory work and lead experimental programs to develop or improve products.

Lead work from 100g to 5kg scale, supporting the scaleup team in the phases beyond 5kg.

Lead process technology transfer internally or between customers/partners.

Lead internal and commercial programs relating to development or discovery of process technology

Drive the team to contribute to IP capturing, and lead the creation of technology transfer packages

Lead filing of patents when necessary.

About You

MSc or PhD in chemistry or similar

Deep technical knowledge of formulation chemistry in an industry with tightly controlled product requirements, e.g., pharmaceuticals, battery materials, semiconductors, etc.

Technical knowledge of dry mixing or wet mixing processes, and a deep understanding of interparticle and/or intermolecular interactions.

Skilled leading technical programs to develop multi-component formulations with complex functional requirements.

Technical team leadership in process chemistry, product development chemistry areas.
