The Head of Brand & Marketing at APFN is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the strategic marketing direction of the organisation and development of the Brand within the industry. This role goes beyond traditional marketing execution, focusing on thought leadership, brand positioning, and long-term growth. The postholder will play a key role in influencing the organisation’s voice in the sector, aligning marketing strategy with business objectives, and leading a high-performing team to deliver impactful campaigns that resonate with our audience.
This role sits at the heart of our leadership team, working closely with senior stakeholders across the commercial function and the broader business to ensure marketing is a strategic enabler in the delivery of our 5-year plan.
What You Will Be Doing
Strategic Leadership & Positioning
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role, preferably within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organisation. They will have a strong track record of developing and executing strategic marketing plans that effectively drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and commercial growth. You will be adept at leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships, demonstrating excellent communication and collaboration skills. A deep understanding of digital marketing, brand strategy, content development, and performance analytics is essential. Additionally, you should have a history of thought leadership and be capable of positioning an organisation as a market leader within its industry.

What You Will Be Doing
Strategic Leadership & Positioning
- Develop and lead the overarching brand & marketing strategy for APFN, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and values.
- Champion a thought leadership agenda that positions APFN as a leading voice in the industry
- Ensure differentiation in a crowded and often commoditised wholesale market through compelling brand storytelling and visual identity.
- Translate complex business objectives into compelling marketing narratives and campaigns.
- Lead on brand development and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Conduct brand audits and competitor analysis to keep positioning relevant.
- Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs, and ensure regular performance reviews and feedback.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Executive Team, contributing to cross-functional planning and decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to amplify APFN’s impact and reach.
- Use data and insights to inform strategy and measure effectiveness.
- Stay ahead of marketing trends and innovations, bringing fresh thinking to the organisation.
- Identify new opportunities for growth, partnerships, and audience engagement.
- Lead and launch a revenue stream propositions (e.g. Marketing as a service)
- Collaborate closely with product and commercial teams to:
- Develop compelling value propositions.
- Launch new products and services to the market effectively.
- Create technical marketing collateral (data sheets, whitepapers, case studies) tailored to CTO/CIO/Procurement audiences.
- Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Ensure marketing investments deliver measurable value and ROI.
