Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Chef to lead and develop our client's kitchen team, ensuring exceptional food quality and maximizing customer satisfaction. This role involves the day-to-day management of the kitchen, focusing on profitability, team motivation, and high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Food Quality and Consistency

  • Lead the kitchen team to deliver dishes according to standard operating procedures, ensuring consistently high standards.
  • Develop the food offering in line with the culinary vision.
  • Communicate the food agenda effectively within the venue.

Kitchen Profitability and Performance

  • Maintain kitchen profitability through strong gross profit (GP) management.
  • Manage staff rotas efficiently to ensure the right people with the right skills are scheduled at the right times.
  • Control and manage stock effectively, including conducting monthly stock takes.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and support the kitchen team to deliver high standards of service and customer satisfaction during service periods.
  • Ensure the team has the necessary tools and resources to perform their roles effectively.
  • Conduct daily briefings with the kitchen team to align on goals and expectations.
  • Provide comprehensive induction and ongoing development for all team members.
  • Train and develop kitchen teams, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and offer development opportunities for all team members.
  • Foster an open, honest, and engaging culture where team members can excel.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to support team development and retention.
  • Prioritize the well-being of your team members, ensuring their needs are met.
