Overview Of Role
We will consider this role on a contractor or full time basis.
As the first Growth Marketer at Tessl, you’ll take charge of building and executing a marketing strategy tailored to engage developers and tech audiences. Your primary focus will be crafting and driving a go-to-market motion that resonates with the developer community and positions us as a trusted leader in the AI Native Development space.
You’ll be working with the Developer Relations team, leveraging your expertise in digital and technical marketing to maximize the assets that the team creates to drive awareness and engagement of Tessl content and activities via the website, podcast, social channels, developer forums, etc, to deliver measurable impact. This role demands a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach who can operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
You’ll report directly to Simon Maple, Head of Developer Relations, and collaborate closely with our Developer Relations, AI Engineering, and design teams.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a senior marketing professional who is passionate about creating and leveraging impactful GTM strategies to educate and engage developers and technical audiences.
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in growth marketing to developers, with a strong focus on GTM strategy development and execution.
- Experience marketing to developer communities, with knowledge of developer personas, developer tools, and developer ecosystems.
- Skilled in developing data-driven growth marketing strategies, using analytics tools to measure success, and optimizing programs to improve marketing performance. Ability to discern the best opportunities for paid campaigns vs. organic GTM methods and to determine the right KPIs to understand the success of strategies to build on and inform future programming.
- Experience optimizing technical social content and other means of organic outreach to increase overall awareness and engagement of our assets.
- Comfortable working independently, setting goals, and driving results in a startup and high-growth environment while proactively running experiments, identifying failures, and iterating on feedback.
- Hands-on SEO experience; email marketing experience for technical developer audiences.
- Background in hosting and promoting virtual and in-person events such as webinars, hackathons, or developer conferences.
- Previous experience in a startup or experience building marketing functions from scratch.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive GTM strategy involving a paid and organic approach for our content, events, and product, focusing on maximizing growth and engagement in our developer community.
- Create recommendations for compelling content, such as blog posts, case studies, videos, and social media, to drive awareness and engagement based on SEO and past campaign data.
- Collaborate with the Developer Relations and Product teams to craft messaging and campaigns highlighting our unique value proposition.
- Build relationships with key developer communities, influencers, and thought leaders to amplify our reach.
- Explore and implement new marketing tools and techniques to improve our ways of working, refine strategies, and more easily reach and engage technical audiences.

- A take-home exercise to design a growth marketing strategy for an example piece of content.
- An on-site session to present and discuss your take-home exercise to a group of Tessl team members
- A 45-minute company fit interview with Guy, our founder and CEO.
