A Global Control & Protection System Application Leader is responsible for developing and executing global control & protection strategies, leading small Engineering teams, working across multi-discipline in all aspects of HVDC Control & Protection system, you will support the design and implementation of HVDC Control & Protection Systems by analysing customer requirements, assessing the necessary deviation from standard solutions, and provide technical solution that meets the project delivery and Tender objectives.
As a Global Control & Protection System Application Leader, you be Responsible for the following:
Roles and Responsibilities
Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC Control &Protection System Engineering. Extensively demonstrated experience in control and protection system design. Expertise in HVDC Control, Protection and Sequencing strategy. Expertise in PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation tools. Expertise in HVDC Dynamic Performance Studies. Experienced in technical leadership. Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel in order to support projects globally. Exceptional sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organisational risks. Proven skills in managing and leading team with strong technical background. Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment Proactively serves on cross functional leadership teams; Makes decisions independently; Pulls in experts when needed Experienced in Engineering Leader – Technical & Operational. Experience of multi-discipline system integration projects.

As a Global Control & Protection System Application Leader, you be Responsible for the following:

- Creating References Solution, Engineering process & tools
- Provide technical guidance.
- Drive consistent design practices and common global processes for projects.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Overseeing the overall technical solution that meets customer Requirement based on reference Solution.
- Identify and drive improvements in engineering, operational tools, processes, systems & technical solutions to improve our customer value and business efficiency
- Uphold the principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) within the teams.
- Work closely with Team Managers to plan execution strategies, provide engineering estimates, identify risks and put mitigation strategies for new opportunities
- Lead and mentor a global team of Control & Protection engineers and specialists, fostering collaboration and technical development.
- Be the owner of all aspects of Control & Protection system deployment, system Configuration, and validation, as well as all usual integration challenges of the control & protection system
- Implement and maintain the control & protection system reference and customer solutions
- Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
- Review and approve design documents, implement, and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost
- Define the overall technical vision for control system design and architecture across the organisation.
- Development of PSCAD Network Model, Control MATLAB application Model, Control system block diagram, ONM Manuals. MATLAB application unit and system integration testing.
- PSSE / PSCAD and PSSE / RSCAD Power system network conversion, modelling and verification.
- HVDC System in electromagnetic transient tools like PSCAD, EMTP-RV etc.
- Plant modelling in various simulation tools (MATLAB, RSCAD, PSCAD etc) and its verification.
- Ensure that project plans contain the necessary activities and studies required to meet the requirements of the customer and the proposed technical solution.
