Role Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity to use your knowledge of the UK agriculture and dairy sector to help farmers achieve genetic goals within their herd? Then join Genus ABS' Genetic Services team on a full-time permanent basis. The role reports directly to the Genetics Services Manager. It will enable you to work both on-farm and from your home to add value to the business in tactical and strategic ways.
The role of the Genetic Services Specialist uses Genus ABS leading solutions, including; GENEadvance , Genetic Management System (GMS) , HYVIG and Sexcel and Beef InFocus strategies, to train and develop knowledge in the Genus ABS team and enhance customer competencies.
Your work will be split up to 75% directly on-farm and the rest of your time remotely to execute tools and concepts with customers in this role. As the Genetic Service Specialist representing Genus ABS in Northern Ireland, you will anticipate customer demands, emerging trends and value association within the region.

You Will
- Define customer genetic improvement plans, assist in genetic selection and complete genetic reviews
- Provide genetic expertise directly to high value, key & valued customers and prospects to ensure genetic improvement plans maximise customer success and profitability
- As an output of own work, enable Sales and Service colleagues to engage with customers using genetic solutions for more efficient delivery of customer-centric genetic improvement plans and validating customer outcomes
- Contribute to the definition of pioneering Genus ABS genetic improvement plan solutions, data management and technology solutions with the value proposition
- Share expertise and insights through collaboration with Genetic Services to progress the department strategy, further strengthening core competencies and harnessing innovation
- Full clean driving license to enable you to support customers and colleagues throughout Northern Ireland and participate in in-frequent national travel for training, development and knowledge-sharing purposes
- Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience in agriculture
- Proven ability to work with autonomy to make decisions, organising and prioritising own work
- Excellent communication skills to engage with a range of audiences
