As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our Distribution Centre’s success. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading and inspiring the Management team to exceed daily output objectives while fostering an engaging and innovative workplace culture.
- Implementing transformational change initiatives that elevate team performance and employee satisfaction.
- Creating a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, actively promoting a culture of safety, and collaborating closely with our H&S Manager.
- Meeting and exceeding customer service requirements while managing operational budget effectively.
- Advocating for employee engagement through your leadership style and various initiatives that encourage communication and feedback.
- Building positive relationships with union representatives and ensuring that our labour relations are constructive.
- Participating in UK and Ireland network management decisions and representing Martin Brower positively within the industry.
Who You Are:
We are looking for a seasoned leader who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience: Significant background in FMCG operations, particularly within a retail or distribution centre. Proven track record in managing large, complex budgets and operations.
- Transformational Leader: A visionary who can sponsor and lead continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining an environment prioritizing employee wellbeing.
- Exceptional Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of fostering trust and transparent dialogue across teams.
- Empathetic People Leader: Passionate about developing talent and creating a culture where every team member can thrive; you understand the importance of ongoing feedback and mentorship.
- Strategic Thinker: You use data and insights to drive business outcomes and implement strategic priorities effectively while being responsive to industry trends.
