We operate a busy and well-equipped garage in Cambridge, supporting our own extensive fleet of vehicles as well as offering MOT and general maintenance services to external customers. Our garage is a fast-paced environment, and we pride ourselves on high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards, assist with repairs and servicing when required, and contribute to the smooth operation of the garage. You will work as part of a team of dedicated professionals in a busy workshop, with a mixture of internal fleet work and external trade and public customers

What You’ll Do
Vehicle Compliance
- Carry out MOT tests on Class 4 vehicles in accordance with DVSA regulations.
- Accurately complete MOT test documentation and issue certificates.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnose faults where required.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles if needed.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies in the workshop.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with external clients.
- Be committed to maintaining our ISO27001 certification and set high standards for Information Security compliance.
- Leadership
- A current and valid MOT Tester Licence (DVSA-approved).
- Proven experience in vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and repair.
- Strong understanding of MOT test procedures and DVSA guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure in a busy environment.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving License (essential).
- Experience working in a fleet environment.
- Familiarity with electric/hybrid vehicle servicing (training can be provided).
- Additional certifications in diagnostics or air conditioning (F-Gas).
- Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication.
- Strong IT skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent organisational skills.
